Featured food: GARLIC

I know there are a lot of garlic lovers out there! I chose garlic this month for more than its taste though! Garlic has incredible health benefits.

Garlic is a natural antibiotic and can be used to fight off infection. It can be used both internally and topically.
Aged garlic extract can be used as a substitute if you don’t want the strong garlic odor.

Garlic’s antibiotic effect comes from its allicin — the substance that gives it its strong flavor and odor
To take the most advantage of garlic’s properties, use it raw. If crushing, be sure to use right away.

Crushed garlic mixed with water can act as a natural insecticide. It is great for getting rid of aphids in the garden.
