This is a message from the heart written by a mom Sandi Vega) who lost her daughter recently:
For all of you who haven’t heard, I’ve been very active in trying to change things about the street where my daughter Brittany Lee Vega was hit and killed Sept 22, 2010. I would have been willing to cut off my limbs to save her but since she’s gone and I can’t bring her back, I’m trying to do what I can to help the other children in my community and the surrounding areas. I’m sure there’s not one person who wouldn’t want to help…..therefore please do so. Please click on the link below and sign the petition to pass “Brittany’s Law”. I’ve been working with The Tri-State Transportation Campaign in hopes that I can make a difference for the next child that tries to walk to school (whether or not they were given permission). You never want to find out in the manner that I did that your teenager tried to walk to school and didn’t make it across. Please feel free to pass this link along to everyone you know, family, co-workers, friends and anyone who you think can get a bunch of signatures. Anyone who can send this along to CEO’s and owners of large companies, please do so as we are trying to get 20,000 signatures.
