Being originally from Holland I grew up using my bicycle a lot. Going to high school I drove my bicycle twice a day for about 30 minutes. Rain or shine, wind or snow!

The first bicycle was made in 1817. The fastest bicycle was one owned by Fred Rompelberg who made it to 268 km/hour in Salt Lake City in 1995. That equals 166.5 miles/hour. WOW

  1. There are many bike clubs on Long Island that have rides for all level rider. I’m a member of the Long Island Bike Club. It leaves from the Westbury HS lot on Sat. & Sun. There is also the Massapequa, Huntington & Suffolk County Bike Clubs. All can be accessed here:

    And a reminder….Singles AND Attached may join our BICYCLE ride in the park on SUNDAY 10/23 at Heckshere State Park Field #1 meet at 12pm Cost is $5 to organizer for administrative fees. Usually at least 15- 25 Easy riders will be there. Path is paved and not too hilly so great for beginners. Windy day will make it a bit more challenging… but we leave no one behind. check it out!
