Kickstarter, a new way to fund creative projects…

What is Kickstarter?? A home for everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is full of projects, big and small, that are brought to life through the direct support of people like you. Since the launch in 2009, more than 4.4 million people have pledged over $696 million, funding more than 45,000 creative projects. Thousands of creative projects are raising funds on Kickstarter right now.

Each project is independently created. Everyone you see on Kickstarter have complete control over and responsibility for their projects. Kickstarter is a platform and a resource; we’re not involved in the development of the projects themselves. Anyone can launch a project on Kickstarter as long as it meets our guidelines.

Backing a project is more than just giving someone money. It’s supporting their dream to create something that they want to see exist in the world. People rally around their friends’ projects, fans support people they admire, and others simply come to Kickstarter to be inspired by new ideas.

For example our very own Tonia Torellas, owner of ‘It’s My Bag’ (A premium travel bag with an innovative design. Carry and protect all of your clothes and also protect the environment). She joined Kickstarter and is now asking people to pledge to and back her project.

Check it out at http://www.kickstarter.com/. Your pledge will not be just a donation; for only $15 you will also get your very own Blue Denim nap-sac promotional tote reward, a Thank You e-card, and you will also be added to the It’s My Bag newsletter. And for $45 you will receive your very own It’s My Bag Travel/Destination Bag. They are 45” in length, with a 5″ gusset, and a frosted PEVA lining. The destination bag is manufactured from PET (PET means it’s made from recycled water bottles!). Plus you will receive the $5 level rewards.

Email me at LIEntrepreneurs@yahoo.com to let me know about your pledge, so Tonia can bring your reward to the meeting.
