Senior Benefits Consultant – Defined Contribution
The hiring company, with locations in Melville and Mid-Town Manhattan, is a dynamic, fast-growing retirement and benefits consulting firm that provides actuarial and consulting services to defined contribution and defined benefit plans (qualified and non-qualified). Client interaction, plan record keeping, compliance testing, government reporting, implementation of departmental procedures and staff development are all key aspects of this position. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious person who can work both independently and with members of a team. The typical professional development track for this position is to manage a team in the Firm’s DC department.
The position is full-time. Job Responsibilities:
Nondiscrimination testing for 401(k) (ADP / ACP) and other defined contribution Plans (IRC
401(a)(4)) + Top Heavy Testing
Reconciling plan assets and participant accounts
IRS Form 5500 preparation
Consult with clients
Calculate and process participant distributions
Preparation of Safe Harbor Notices & Plan Amendments
Keeping current on changes in legislation and regulations affecting plans
Bachelors Degree with at least three years experience in administration of qualified retirement plans
Experience with MS Office Applications (particularly Word & Excel)
